Native Plant Offerings at the 2025 Native Plant & Seed Libarary
We’re thrilled to announce that this year’s Native Plant & Seed Library will feature a fantastic selection of locally sourced native plants, generously supplied by Nature’s Haven Nursery! These species are not only beautiful additions to gardens and landscapes but also provide essential habitat and food for our native pollinators. Whether you’re planting in a backyard, schoolyard, or community space, these natives are a great way to support biodiversity while enjoying low-maintenance, climate-adapted plants. Of note, we may not have all plants available at all times and offerings are in limited supply.
Here’s a closer look at some of the plants you’ll find this year, along with their basic growing needs:
Douglas’ Aster – A cheerful perennial with purple blooms that attract butterflies and bees. Prefers full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. Moderate water needs; drought tolerant once established.

Blue Eyed Grass – Delicate grass-like leaves with bright blue flowers. Best in full sun to part shade with well-drained soil. Moderate watering.

Currant (Yellow or Red) – Shrubs with edible berries and lovely foliage. Thrive in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil with moderate watering. Excellent for wildlife habitat.

By planting natives, you’re not only supporting bees, butterflies, and birds—you’re also cultivating plants that are resilient, low-maintenance, and perfectly adapted to our local climate. Native bees need native plants and these offerings will help expand the bee biodiversity in your garden, patio, yard or business.
