Join the Vancouver Bee Project and the Water Resources Education Center for a hands-on workshop and volunteer event all about creating pollinator-friendly gardens in shady spaces!
This engaging morning begins indoors, where local experts will share practical guidance on using Pacific Northwest native plants that thrive in low-light areas. Learn how to transform your lawn or shaded corner into a vibrant habitat supporting native bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects.
Then, we’ll head outside to the Water Center’s garden to put ideas into action—planting shade-tolerant natives and improving pollinator habitat along the Columbia River.
No experience necessary—just bring curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to dig in!
What to bring:
Weather-appropriate clothing
Gardening gloves (if you have them)
A reusable water bottle
