Directions

Join the Vancouver Bee Project and the Water Resources Education Center for a hands-on workshop and volunteer event all about creating pollinator-friendly gardens in shady spaces!

This engaging morning begins indoors, where local experts will share practical guidance on using Pacific Northwest native plants that thrive in low-light areas. Learn how to transform your lawn or shaded corner into a vibrant habitat supporting native bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects.

Then, we’ll head outside to the Water Center’s garden to put ideas into actionβ€”planting shade-tolerant natives and improving pollinator habitat along the Columbia River.

No experience necessaryβ€”just bring curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to dig in!

What to bring:

  • Weather-appropriate clothing

  • Gardening gloves (if you have them)

  • A reusable water bottle

All ages are welcome. Advance registration is requiredβ€”reserve your spot today!
